Three Russian Cosmonauts Show Up at ISS With Bold Uniforms in Ukrainian Flag Colors

It appears that three cosmonauts arriving at the International Space Station just made a big statement. As the hatch opened and the new arrivals were greeted warmly by their international colleagues, it was impossible not to notice what Denis Matveyev, Oleg Artemyev, and Sergey Korsakov were wearing. Instead of the standard plain blue Russian uniform, they were decked out in bright yellow suits with blue trim that looked suspiciously like the Ukrainian flag.

NASA Satellite Captures Epic GIF of Moon Transiting the Earth

Though it may look like a CGI animation, this gif of the Moon transiting Earth is very real. And what's even more incredible is the side of the Moon that's visible in the imagery. Taken in 2015 by a camera aboard NASA's Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) satellite, it shows the elusive “dark side” of the Moon.

Right Now There’s a Jupiter-Size Plasma Tree on the Sun

Thanks to the skills of astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy, we're able to see an incredible “tree” that has been “planted” on the Sun. Clocking in at an impressive 80,000 miles high, this isn't any ordinary tree. It's actually made from plasma that has been pulled away from the Sun by its magnetic field.

NASA Selects 10 Astronauts From More Than 12,000 Applicants To Join Artemis Mission

Have you ever dreamed of one day being an astronaut in space? Just recently, NASA announced its latest trainee astronauts that will report for duty at the Johnson Space Center in Texas. Ten candidates were selected from a group of more than 12,000 applicants in hopes of being a part of NASA’s first human missions to the Moon in more than 50 years.
